We went away this weekend and I have been very good about learning what foods are MY migraine triggers and I seem to be only get them now at the period time of the month but even then they are not so bad. I am very happy that onions are not my trigger as they are for so many people when I eliminated them for awhile it was so hard to cook with out them since they are in so much. We went to this pub and had a late lunch so I had an appetizer for dinner and had a fondue thing and it had onion pettals and beef and this 3 cheese fondue it was very good. I am also happy that cheeses do not seem to bother me either because when I first stared this I was limited to american cheese and cream cheese it was so hard. I do believe my only triggers are MSG, nitrates and orange. Orange makes me so sad because I love orange juice I may try it again and see. I did find a company online that makes nitrate free bacon and hot dogs they said they sell it locally so I will try it and let you know I will miss them both in the summer when we camp. SO today I spring cleaned half of my kitchen and cleaned out the cupboards and threw out some things that had MSG in them like stove top stuffing, I can make my own stuffing, pre made cookie mix, again I can make my own, reecees bar mix. I am going to walk the dogs soon and may make

I have had a migraine two Sunday's in a row. Saturday night we went to a friends wild game feed they host this every year the problem is they never serve on time and I helped at the door and with the issues with my memory its not a good idea. I get so overwhelmed when I have to multitask and I forget if people give me a $20 or a $10 when there is too much going on its too hard for me. I have had times when i have been reducing topamax to 150 mg but being in a small migraine streak it scares me. They then waited until almost 9:15 for us to eat so i got a migraine and then I ate the salad bad bad idea not knowing if it was a bagged salad or what the dressing was I was just so hungry. Sunday's migraine kicked my butt. I got rid of it fast but it just wiped me out. I tried to go back to bed around 11 but everyone was home and they are just loud. By 2 they left and I was able to sleep for a short while and then I was able function. I think as long as I keep my eating in control I am ok but when the hormones kick in it throws it all out of whack. But I can also say that the migraines have not been nearly half as bad as they used to be around that time of the month so we are seeing a great improvement. And I do now realize that Dextrin and maltodextrin are different and I can have dextrin and this
I think that I cursed myself with my last post! I finally got my period after 3 months and thus migraines though they truly so far have not been that bad. I woke up at 3 am Sunday morning with one and then was really just wiped out for the day I am not sure if it was a result of hormones or the headache. Now sometimes when I get one like that in the middle of the night well actually normally when I get them like that they come back mid morning and linger all day this did not this went away however I felt just dragged down all day. But I do look at it as an improvement. Then yesterday I felt pretty good a bit tired but ok. I went to my kick boxing class and then right in the middle of it I got very weak like almost low blood sugar feeling but I know I had eaten enough. I had to leave it was a very bad feeling. When I made dinner the headache came. I took my Maxalt and it did its job but I had that sometimes reaction that I get from a headache where I can not keep my eyes open I took a bath and was upstairs "watching" tv at 7:30 finally gave up at 9 and went to sleep. Its a very weird state I get in when I am like that its like I am not really asleep but can not keep my eyes open. Today I feel a bit tired but no headache but its early so we will see. I will be extremely careful with my foods and hope this helps. I am very bloated so some detox tea is in order. The reason I say no one gets it is that My 16 year old son worked much more than normal last week and a very long day on Sunday. Buy the end of the day he got a headache. He very snotty said to me "see when I get a headache I don't call in sick" this hurt me to my core. He has no idea I though he understood but he does not, He also said something about having headaches "like every single day" like I do it on purpose this tells me it has effected him. I feel bad for this and wish I had discovered that there were these foods that triggered these headaches sooner that maybe Dr's could have helped me better years ago. People do not understand that a migraine is a disease that affects your central nervous system that makes your whole body go weak that affects you in ways that until you go through it you cannot comprehend. Its been 4 weeks since I have had a migraine 4 weeks! Can you believe it! I feel like I need to knock on wood or something. I thought for sure I was getting one Monday I was so tired I got some dull pressure above my left eye where I always get them an almost headache is what I call them. I had yogurt for the fist time since September well sort of I have had frozen yogurt 2x and it was when I was in that bad streak so I was not sure if it was causing them or not. On Easter Sunday I had a few no no's I had yogurt I had fresh yeast baked cinnamon rolls. For a migraine person fresh is best except for yeast based things day old is better. I had deviled eggs that after I ate 2 realized I think had bacon in them! GAWD! Then yesterday I went to the movies with my son we then went to Bob Evans and again had fresh rolls I do not know if there rolls are fresh yeast or not but they do taste it and I had a turkey dinner with gravy I know it was wrong but just wanted it. I know it had MSG by the gas I had in the night. Here is what I think about myself IF I am in a good stress free place and my hormones are not too wigged out I may just may be able to have some of the migraine triggers as long as I do not go crazy. Now I know that i suffer from gas no matter what and I was at a store and I had to RUN for the bathroom and have not had to do that in a long time so there is a price to pay for that gravy I ate on that turkey. I did not eat allot of it and when I had the potatoes I ate the edges and tried to eat minimal gravy so i still tried to be careful. I will be easy and safe with my eating for the rest of the week and the other thing last night I had to take a tums I have not had to do that in a long time either.
